For the best directions, Google Maps seems to be the most reliable in our area. Below is some useful information coming from various directions to our place though!
<DIRECTIONS FROM ATLANTA>
Coming from Atlanta, you will have intermittent cell service after passing through Blue Ridge, and then you will lose it completely as you leave Andrews (about 20 minutes from the house), so be sure that your directions are up and running.
Andrews will be the last town where you can stop at a grocery store, drug store, etc. if you need anything on the way, and will also be the closest town for things like that once you are there.
<DIRECTIONS FROM KNOXVILLE>
Coming from Knoxville, you will probably go via Highway 129 (the Tail of the Dragon). It's a beautiful, but very winding drive, so if anyone in your group gets motion sickness, you probably want to plan for that! You will lose cell service as you leave Knoxville/Alcoa (and regain it briefly in Robbinsville), so make sure that your directions are up and running.
Robbinsville will be the last town where you can stop at a grocery store, drug store, etc. if you need anything on the way, and Andrews will be the closest town for things like that once you are there and is only a short detour if you'd rather stop there instead of Robbinsville.
<DIRECTIONS FROM ASHEVILLE>
Coming from Asheville, you will lose cell service as you leave Bryson City, so make sure that your directions are up and running.
Bryson City will also be the last town where you can stop at a grocery store, drug store, etc. if you need anything on the way. Andrews will be the closest town for things like that once you are there.
